Exploring Altered States Through Music, Movement, and Presence

UNFOLDING

A 6-Week Journey Into Self

Why we’re doing this now

"You're the only one who's ever really listened to me." "I've never shared this with anyone before in my life." "I just have this feeling that you really get me."

We regularly hear things like these from friends, family and clients and know that’s not common. Often people don't share their feelings because they are afraid they will be judged or punished for it. Or they have not shared for so long that they don't feel much of anything anymore – just numb. It's not that they cannot reach the feeling side of themselves. It's that they never had a container in the first place that would allow for that kind of vulnerability to unfold naturally.

We are here to provide that container for you to get you curious about and explore those unexplored parts of you. Sometimes you will be surprised by what a part of you has to say, once it is given space. In the right container, the wounded, pushed away, or exiled parts can start to trust that they are safe, and they come out. You get one step closer to getting to know all parts of you that make you “you”. We call this unfolding.

We have spent years in our own unfolding, and years sitting with others in theirs. We noticed that there is increasingly compounding anxiety in everyone around us. Society is at a major transition moment, and transitions are so hard. That much uncertainty about life itself is a lot to carry but you don’t have to carry it alone. That is what made us feel compelled to offer this program, and do so now.

Who this is for

This group is for anyone who has been quietly wondering what's underneath, and would rather not find out alone.

Maybe there's a feeling you've carried so long it's become part of the furniture. Maybe you understand your patterns well, and they still don't change. Maybe you've gotten good at being fine, and part of you is tired of it. Maybe life is shifting under your feet, or you've had an experience, in meditation, breathwork, a psychedelic journey, or out of nowhere, that you're still trying to make sense of.

Wherever you're starting from is a fine place to start. You don't need experience with music, yoga, meditation, or therapy, and you don't need to know what you're looking for. You only need some curiosity, and the willingness to show up for six weeks, for yourself and for the people beside you. We'll take care of the rest together.

What this is

This is an experiential group for people who are curious about their own inner life and want a container with safety and depth to explore it.

Over six weeks, we work with music, guided imagery, breath, movement, and stillness practices drawn from music therapy, somatic work, and depth psychology. Each 2-hour session works with a different modality and builds on the week before. These modalities are carefully curated from well-researched techniques with known benefits, and intentionally offered in a certain order so that each week builds on the one before. They are less like flavours to choose between and more like nutrients. Each one feeds something different and you need all of them. Breath goes somewhere talking can't go. Music goes somewhere breath can't. Stillness opens something that movement doesn't, and movement opens something that stillness keeps shut.

You meet the same group every week. The trust deepens as you go, and the effect of the practices multiplies with it. You might want to bring what you notice between sessions back into the room and have the group hold it with you. Or, you don't have to share what comes up at all. A lot of the time the group is simply there to hold you while you go somewhere you have not been able to go on your own. Healing completes in connection.

What you can expect by the end is a growing ease with your own past and present. A sense of being genuinely held. Small but real shifts in your relationship with your body and mind, affecting how you move through daily life.

Who this is for

You feel your feelings and notice things shifting inside, but you can't really name them and often feel blocked from going further, so:

  • You want to get closer to your own inner world.
  • You want to work with your body and the sensations more deeply.
  • You want to do this kind of work only in a container you trust.
  • You want structure: practices that are known to work, the same people, every week.
  • You want to create space to work on this for six consecutive weeks.

If a few of these sound like you, this is probably the group you are looking for. Most people come with no experience of any of this so anyone who’s called into this work is welcome!

Who this is not for

  • Anyone in a crisis right now. This is not therapy and it does not replace it. If you are in treatment, please speak with your therapist or doctor first.
  • Anyone looking for a fix, or a clear result by week six. We offer no quick fixes but noticeable changes in your relationship with yourself.
  • Anyone who wants to watch rather than take part. You don't have to speak every week, but you do need to be present.

Who we are

ÖZLEM

Özlem creates the container. Trained in meditation, somatic practice and breathwork, and certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga and in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research (CIIS), she brings depth and care to every interaction. Her gift is seeing the whole person, and helping you see yourself that way, too. She holds space with presence, wisdom, and an ability to make you feel genuinely safe.

SOPHIA

Sophia guides the inward journey through music. A board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), integration coach, Guided Imagery and Music(GIM) practitioner. She uses carefully selected music in trauma-informed, somatically aware work that opens expanded states where unconscious material can surface. She holds an MA in Music Therapy(NYU) and Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research (CIIS).

How the six weeks unfold

Each week opens a different doorway inward, and each builds on the last. We move from arriving and setting intentions, into music and imagery, into the body, into language, and finally back to ourselves, to see what has changed and what we want to carry forward. Throughout, you'll keep a short weekly journal, so by the end your own six weeks are there for you to read back.

The arc

  • Week 1Arriving. Building the container, meeting the group, naming what you're here for.
  • Week 2Intro to Music & Imagery. Learning to listen with a new consciousness.
  • Week 3Explore Inner Landscapes. A deeper journey with music and imagery in a non-ordinary state of consciousness.
  • Week 4Attuning with The Body. Breath, gentle movement, and what the body knows.
  • Week 5Finding Language. Giving words to what has surfaced, without flattening it.
  • Week 6Carrying It Forward. Reading back your journey and choosing what comes next.

What to expect

  • Sessions are experiential with teaching of the modality we are using. You'll spend much of the time experiencing, listening, moving gently, drawing, or writing.
  • Music journeys happen reclining or laying down, fully clothed, and awake. No substances are involved.
  • Body work is invitational and trauma-informed, with no hands-on adjustments.
  • Sharing is always optional; passing is always welcome.
  • You'll receive a full participant guide before the first session.

What’s next?

With the trust we've built over multiple weeks, at the end we'll open a conversation about whether there's interest in exploring other modalities in the next phase of the program. We'll share more about what that could involve.
